How to use our three microfilm/microfiche machines and locating resources at Alkek Library

Searching for Newspapers, Journals, and Microforms

When searching for Microforms through the Alkek Library Catalog, you will have to do four things before clicking the submit button.

1. Use either Keyword or Title in the first dropdown menu. Select either one that you would prefer to us.

2. Type in the title of the Newspaper or Microform you are searching for.

3. Use the dropdown menu to select type of material you are searching for.

4. Choose Periodicals as your type if it is a newspaper, journal, microfilm or microfiche.

Once you have clicked the submit button, your results will be listed. The list may consists of several formats and will also list the location of the items. With each location, there will also be a call number and usage for the item that is available.
