Access to relevant and new scholarly content to improve research and teaching appropriate to an emerging research institution.
Participate as requested in assigned subject (broad, science, humanities, liberal arts, etc.) discipline “cluster.”
Research, review new subject database resources for assigned subject discipline.
Forward trials to dept. faculty and give/gather feedback as assigned to database discipline cluster.
Partner with faculty to encourage them to submit online research resource grants for their discipline/s.
In addition to insuring Basic duties are fulfilled should:
Serve as the subject discipline cluster leader, becoming responsible for insuring database trials are reviewed and forward member and faculty feedback to the decision making team.
Be available to assist the Acquisitions staff as requested regarding questions regarding issues related to database selections.
Partner with faculty to write online research resource grants.
In addition to insuring Basic and Better duties are fulfilled should:
Academic dept. faculty contact librarian to advocate for research and primary source material purchases in their field or discipline.
Initiate online research grants with faculty endorsements.
Initiate major online resource grant proposals (with faculty and/or colleagues) outside of library (examples: Merrick, NEH or NEA, etc.)
Usage and survey responses (LibQual) will indicate collections in discipline needs are being met or increasing, and relevant.
Fund allocation serial expenditures are within necessary parameters, and there are sufficient funds each year for new material acquisitions.
