Turning Naysayers Into Team Players

Libguide to support the poster presentation for Texas Library Association Great Ideas Posters and More

Donna & Emily's Recommendations

Top Five Recommendations

1. Expect the technology (mobile gaming platform, wifi, etc.)  to work perfectly on all days leading up to the actual date of the scavenger hunt only to unexpectedly crash right when you're setting the students free on the building.

2. Also expect that some of the lock boxes you use to hide the prizes will refuse to open even if the clues are correct.

3. Do a run through of the scavenger hunt prior to the students' arrival to catch confusing clues, test out the technology, and make sure the lock boxes are working as they should.

4. Try to avoid locations where the library has established quiet areas, but make sure to mention them to the students

5. Stick together at all times - if there are elevators, take the elevator so that the game can be accessible to everyone.
