SAHE 5387: Research Methods in Student Affairs

Search Tips

Use Boolean logic to search by keywords and phrases:

  • AND: "first generation" AND mentor*
  • OR: male* OR men
( "student* employ*" OR "student personnel worker*" OR "student worker*" )
AND
( mentor* )
AND
( "professional development" OR "professional learning" OR "professional training" )

The search boxes get translated into a ( text search string ) that can be read by other library databases.

( "student* employ*" OR "student personnel worker*" OR "student worker*" or "student workstud*" ) AND mentor* AND ( "professional development" OR "professional learning" OR "professional training" )

Use "quotation marks" to search for whole phrases: "student affairs"

Search results can be limit by Date or Sorted, and also limited to Peer Reviewed

Consider truncation. The symbol used is usually *.

UNIVERSIT* will retrieve:
universitiesuniversity

Check Subject terms for other words/phrases that may work as synonyms for your topic.
