CI 3338: Social Studies in the Elementary and Middle School - Brooks: RRC Library: Summer Session I

This course guide was created for Jodi Brooks' CI 3338 (Social Studies in the Elementary and Middle School) class.

Welcome

Use this guide to help with research through the RRC Library.  You will find information about how to find books, search for articles, and many services the RRC Library has to offer.  We are an extension site of Alkek Library.

RRC Library: Current Status

The RRC Library is physically closed with a tentative reopen date of July 3, 2020. While the library is closed, staff are on site and available to help.

Please contact us through Ask a Librarian@RRC (chat, email, text, phone) if you need any assistance with library resources.

June 1 - July 3, 2020 library staff are available:

  • Monday - Thursday, 8 AM to 6:30 PM
  • Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

E Books

The library has lots of e books!

Find them in the library catalog by entering your search term and then changing the dropdown menu from Search Entire Collection to E Books.

Printing/Scanning

While the RRC Library, Avery 255, is physically closed, go to the Open Computer Labs in the Avery Building for printing/scanning:

  • Avery 303 - Black & White and Color
  • Avery 305 - Black & White

If you have questions about the Open Computer Labs or want to check your print balance, please contact ITAC.

Checking In/Out Books

Returning Books:

Between June 1 and July 2, 2020, knock on the library door (Avery 255) during the hours listed in the Current Status box above, and library staff will come to the door and provide assistance. 

 

Checking Out Books:

  • Select a book in the library catalog, and click on Request/Hold, enter your NetID and password and select RRC Library for the Pickup Location.
  • When you receive an email that your book is ready for pick up, contact library staff through Ask a Librarian@RRC
  • Library staff will let you know the latest protocol in place for checking out books. 
  • You will need to present your Texas State student ID or a government-issued photo ID to check out books.
