How We Can Work Together

As the Research Literacy Engagement Librarian and a Liaison Librarian, I can:

  • Meet with you in person, by video, or via email to discuss any of your research needs or answer your questions about library resources and services.
  • Teach sessions customized to your class that are tied to the Association of College and Research Libraries Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education.
  • Scaffold information literacy and library learning opportunities into your courses.
  • Present at department meetings, seminars, journal clubs, public events, or student organizations.
  • Collaborate with you on research projects, publications, presentations, and grants.
  • Connect you with my colleagues across the TXST University Libraries who are functional specialists and can support your research and information needs.
  • Create research guides offering targeted support to a course's research project.

Background & Interests

I am a first generation college student and moved to the United States at the ​age of 12 from the Cayman Islands. ​I developed a passion for libraries through my volunteer work and that has driven my educational goals. I hold a Ph.D. in Educational Studies, from The Ohio State University, with an emphasis in learning technologies, a master’s degree in library and information science, specializing in digital libraries, from Indiana University and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Lamar University.

Research Areas

My research interests revolve around ​effective instruction methods related to the integration of information literacy and supporting student researchers and their information seeking behaviors within organized networks.
