This is for those want to serve as a contractor on a project of the federal government.
"Organizations within the federal government publish notices on proposed contract actions valued at more than $25,000. These notices, or contract opportunities, cover announcements through official solicitations in the pre-award process. Anyone interested in doing business with the government can use this system to research active opportunities."

Usually a site for posting proposed and new federal regulations but also containing occasional opportunities to apply for federal funding.​

HHS is the largest grant-making agency in the US. Most HHS grants are provided directly to states, territories, tribes, and educational and community organizations, then given to people and organizations who are eligible to receive funding.

EPA funds extramural research through its Science to Achieve Results (STAR) program and the People, Prosperity, and the Planet (P3) Program. These research programs help to engage top research scientists and students that results in a strong scientific foundation to support the agency’s mission of protecting human health and the environment.

Since 1946, the Fulbright Program has provided merit-based awards for international educational exchange for students, scholars, teachers, professionals, and artists to study, teach, or conduct research both abroad and in the United States. Fostering mutual understanding, this program strengthens global education and promotes international peace and prosperity.

Supporting research in science and technology is an important part of NASA's overall mission. NASA solicits this research through the release of various research announcements in a wide range of science and technology disciplines. NASA uses a peer review process to evaluate and select research proposals submitted in response to these research announcements. Researchers can help NASA achieve national research objectives by submitting research proposals and conducting awarded research.

The U.S. National Science Foundation offers hundreds of funding opportunities — including grants, cooperative agreements and fellowships — that support research and education across science and engineering.

The DOE Office of Science issues many announcements each year to solicit research proposals from colleges and universities, non-profit and for-profit research organizations, DOE’s national laboratories, small businesses, and other federal research organizations.

The Office of Science issues two types of funding announcements:

Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs), which may be open to one or more institution types (please read the eligibility requirements in a given FOA for details); and
DOE National Laboratory Announcements, which are open only to DOE laboratories.
