GIS & Data Lab - ALK 452
Located on the fourth floor of Alkek Library, our lab has all of the hardware and software you need for modern GIS workflows. It is available for use during the library's open hours. We are officed in room 452.1, inside the lab.

Technical Support
Our team offers walk-in, on the spot GIS technical and software support for patrons. We are generally available from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. Knock on the door to Room 452.1 and ask us for help. For longer or more advanced inquiries, we ask that you schedule a one-on-one consultation with us.
GIS & Data Lab Guidelines
- You must be a student, faculty, or staff of Texas State University with a valid NetID. A login is required to access all applications on the computers.
- You must have a personal storage device eg. external hard drive, portable hard drive, flash drive etc. to save/store all projects. ALL PATRON’S DATA LEFT ON WORKSTATIONS WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DELETED AFTER THEY SIGN OUT.
- No food or drink; covered or uncovered is allowed in the lab. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- The GIS & Data Lab is open to all forms of research and academic work, but when there is a shortage of space, priority will be given to patrons needing a geospatial or data application for their project.
