Researchers may use or adapt the following boilerplate language when preparing their Data Management Plans. These are offered as examples for researchers and primarily those planning to deposit their research data in the Texas State Dataverse Repository during their project or following the collection of data to share and disseminate. It is important to note that information included in your Data Management Plan must be adhered to per requirements of your funding agency.
All datasets for this project will be shared through the Texas State Dataverse Repository (https://dataverse.tdl.org/dataverse/txst), hosted by the Texas Digital Library (TDL). The Texas Data Repository is a project of the TDL and its member institutions to develop a consortial statewide research data repository for researchers at Texas higher education institutions. Each dataset will be minted a digital object identifier (DOI) to support data discovery, reporting, and research assessment. All data generated from this project will be available as soon as possible, and no later than the time of publication or the end of the funding period, whichever comes first. The duration of preservation and sharing of the data will be a minimum of 10 years after the funding period. The data will be shared in the Texas State Dataverse Repository by unrestricted download access.
Metadata records will be created to describe each of the project’s digital resources. Metadata for the project data will provide information on subject, provenance, authorship, methods and post-processing, and a Creative Commons copyright statement that will support discoverability and use of the collection. Available metadata schemas will enhance discovery and provide the opportunity for long-term preservation of datasets. Metadata records will be retained by the Texas State Dataverse Repository along with the datasets for the specific preservation period up to 10 years.
