Alkek One is a hub of technology-focused spaces located on the first floor of the Alkek Library. These spaces feature a variety of technologies that support the maker culture, immersive reality, time-based media, geographic information systems and digital design. Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to collaborate and take advantage of the connection between the physical spaces, the community of experts, and the foundational concepts and skills that enable them to innovate using these technologies and tools.
Through the micro-credentialing program, faculty, staff, and students learn foundational concepts and gain skills that will enable them to innovate using digital tools and technologies. Program participants can earn badges that recognize their technology competencies and build a portfolio of micro-credentials and creative projects that they can utilize in their research and share with potential employers to demonstrate their expertise, creativity, and ingenuity.
