Administrator Only: Review Process

This information pertains only to University Libraries staff with administrator access and responsibilities for processing submissions to the DSpace Institutional Repository.

DSpace Approval Process

Once you have logged in, if you are a designated administrator from the University Libraries, you will have access to the Workflows options.

1. Go to your DSpace workflows from the top right corner account login and select MyDSpace.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. You will first see only the submissions you have personally submitted. From the right navigation, under Show, select Workflow Tasks.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. You will then see the recent submissions to the repository that are awaiting final processing and approval. Select Claim to continue to through the review process.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. Once you have selected Claim, you will see additional options for the review in the submission process. 

  • Approve: This confirms final approval of the submission and the item will be deposited to the selected collection.
  • Reject: This prompts a confirmation, and a text-entry box to include the reason for rejection, which after confirming permanently deletes from the Workflow.
  • Return to pool: This un-claims the item from the selected administrator users' queue and allows others to review.
  • View: This displays the item in its current draft state, in order to review and edit before approving the submission.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

5. Repeat as needed.

When in doubt, select Return to pool.
