Vireo Submission System

Information for submitting theses, dissertations, capstones, and directed student research.

Accessing Vireo and Submitting Your Work

This section walks you through the entire submission process—from logging into Vireo to successfully submitting your thesis, dissertation, or capstone project.

Step 1: Login to TXST Vireo

  1. Visit the Vireo Submission Portal

  2. Log In Using Your University Credentials

    • Click “Log In” and complete the Shibboleth Single Sign-On using your university NetID and password.

    • Faculty advisors and supervisors will also use this method to access submissions for review.

  3. Choose Your Action from the Dashboard

    • Submit a New Submission: Start a new thesis, dissertation, or capstone submission.

    • Manage/View Your Submission: Continue working on a saved submission or check the status of a submission already in progress or under review.

Tip: You can save your work at any time and return later to complete your submission.

Step 2: Submit Information and Documents

  1. Choose Your Organization: Texas State University

  2. Select Your College:

    1. Graduate College

    2. Honors College

  3. If you select Graduate College, select from the 5 available degree programs:

    1. Doctor of Education (Ed.D.)

    2. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

    3. Master of Arts (M.A.)

    4. Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.)

    5. Master of Science (M.S.)

Note: This selection of degree program is only for Graduate College theses and dissertations. It is important to select the correct option. If you are unsure, check with your advisor or contact the Graduate College.

  1. Enter Your Personal Information (as the submitter)- As it appears on title page. Fields with an asterisk (*) are required.

    1. First Name*

    2. Middle Name

    3. Last Name*

    4. ORCID (orcid.org)

    5. Select your College*

    6. Select your Department*

    7. Select your Major*

    8. Permanent Email* (Note: This should be one that is not your university email; Only used to contact you if needed after graduation)

  2. License Agreement

    • Review and agree to the Nonexclusive Distribution License

  3. ProQuest UMI License (Graduate College Dissertations Only)

    • Review and agree to the ProQuest UMI License

  4. Document Information

    • Provide complete and accurate information:

      • Title* (Use Title Case; avoid ALL CAPS)

      • Graduation Semester* (semester in which your degree will be conferred)

      • Defense Date (Graduate College theses or dissertation)

      • Submission Type*

        • Graduate College: Thesis

        • Graduate College: Dissertation

        • Honors College: Capstone

      • Abstract (250–500 words; will be publicly visible even under embargo)

      • Keywords* (Separated by commas for better discoverability)

      • Language*

      • Committee Chair or Capstone Supervisor

        • Primary Contact Chair or Supervisor email

      • Committee Members or Second Readers

      • Degree Information (Program, Department, Graduation Term)

  5. Select Embargo and Access Options*

  6. Upload Your Document*

    • Upload your final document as a PDF.

    • If you have supplementary files (e.g., datasets, appendices, multimedia), upload them following the system prompts.

    • Ensure files meet naming and size requirements.

You will be prompted to review your information entered prior to submitting.
