Research and Scholarship Repository

The Research and Scholarship Institutional Repository collects, preserves, and showcases the scholarly achievements of Texas State University's academic community. It provides open access to the diverse array of research and scholarship materials created at Texas State including articles, presentations, posters, electronic theses and dissertations, capstones, multimedia presentations, and more.

An important aspect of research is sharing the results with your peers and the general public, and reflects the University Mission, Values, and Goals.

The University Libraries is committed to the value of open and supports open access, open data, open educational resources, and open source software to enable a more equitable, collaborative, and sustainable global system of knowledge exchange. Openness reduces barriers to access, innovation, and sharing.

The Research and Scholarship Institutional Repository offers the opportunity for researchers to disseminate their work to the widest possible audiences, increasing impact and highlighting the valuable work of our university community. All Texas State University faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to boost the reach and impact of their work by depositing it in the TXST Research and Scholarship Repository. The Texas State University Research and Scholarship Repository is hosted by the Texas Digital Library (TDL) consortium, in the DSpace platform. DSpace is a widely-used open source repository software that manages and preserves all types of digital content and facilitates indexing of that content by commercial search engines such as Google and Google Scholar.

The DSpace institutional repository hosted by the TDL:

• promotes the principles of open access
• ensures the long-term preservation and accessibility of digital assets
• provides access to published and unpublished research of faculty, staff, and students
• preserves and disseminates a wide variety of content beyond traditional scholarly articles, including learning objects, electronic theses and dissertations, audio/visual content, posters, presentations, and more
• helps universities and researchers fulfill obligations to make publicly funded or non-profit-funded research available open access
• encourages access and sharing among disciplines and institutions
• showcases an institution's faculty and student output, and through participation in the TDL consortium, the scholarly contributions of the entire state
