Linking to Articles & Other Resources: Readex

Learn how to link to articles and other resources in the library's databases to put in Canvas, bibliographies, or syllabi, share via email, or save in your browser.

Option 1: Print Citation

1. Copy the proxy URL and paste into a document: http://libproxy.txstate.edu/login?url=

2. Go to the item in the database and click PRINT CITATION above the document, near the top right of the screen. If you don't see PRINT CITATION, scroll down to Option 2 below.

3. On the next page, scroll all the way to the bottom to find the URL called "Article Bookmark" and copy. Example:


4. Paste the URL AFTER the Proxy URL to make a new URL that will work from off-campus. Make sure there is no space between the two.

EXAMPLE: http://libproxy.txstate.edu/login?url=http://docs.newsbank.com/openurl?ctx_ver=z39.88-2004&rft_id=info:sid/iw.newsbank.com:EAIX&rft_val_format=info:ofi/fmt:kev:mtx:ctx&rft_dat=0F30163A48805C70&svc_dat=Evans:eaidoc&req_dat=0E217370317CF4B5

5. Test your link to be sure it works!

Option 2: Article Bookmark

1. Copy the proxy URL and paste into a document: http://libproxy.txstate.edu/login?url=

2. Go to the item in the database and click   above the document, near the top right of the screen.

3. Copy URL.

4. Paste the Proxy URL followed by the  resource url to make a  permalink that will work from off-campus. Make sure there is no space between the two. EXAMPLE:

5. Test your link to be sure it works!
