Linking to Articles & Other Resources: Oxford

Below are different permalink examples for Oxford Resources.

Oxford uses a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) for its permanent URLs. 

  1. The DOI for the article below is incomplete by itself > 10.1093/geront/gnv093
  2. It will need the DOI prefix > http://dx.doi.org/ 
  3. Put that together and you have >  http://dx.doi.org/10.1093/geront/gnv093
  4. You will also need to add Alkek Library's proxy in front of the DOI URL >  http://libproxy.txstate.edu/login?url=
  5. Finished!  http://libproxy.txstate.edu/login?url=http://dx.doi.org/10.1093/geront/gnv093
  6. You may use the URL in the address bar as a permalink but, it is RECOMMENDED to use the DOI.  Remember to include the Library proxy prefix  
    http://libproxy.txstate.edu/login?url=http://gerontologist.oxfordjournals.org/content/56/1/5.full

        

Oxford eReference Book

Oxford eReference can be linked by title or an entry in a particular title. Oxford uses a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) for its permanent URLs.  

  1. The DOI for the title below is incomplete by itself > 10.1093/acref/9780195306613.001.0001
  2. It will need the DOI prefix > http://dx.doi.org/ 
  3. Put that together and you have >  http://dx.doi.org/10.1093/acref/9780195306613.001.0001
  4. You will also need to add Alkek Library's proxy in front of the DOI URL >  http://libproxy.txstate.edu/login?url=
