The first President's Home (initially referred to the Principle's Home when Texas State was a Normal School) was on the hill by the main building. It was replaced in the 1960s with the building now called Hill House.
The current President's Home was originally part of the San Marcos Baptist Academy. It was acquired by Texas State in the early 1980s, and has served as the official residence of the University President since that time. The campus community is usually invited to the home for a holiday reception in December.
